This root ball drench is a systemic pesticide chemical that is absorbed by the roots and taken up throughout the plant. Complete up-take takes about 30 days and lasts one growing season. It is effective on many tree borers including bronze birch borer. Trees already badly infested by borer may not be salvageable. It has also proven to be effective on the new pest wooly adelgid that is infesting hemlocks.
